So we did it – we survived another winter. Why not celebrate and get in the spirit by trying some new looks for Spring? It’s our time of the year to be daring, and try some new things that winter weather put a damper on. Spring is all about revitalizing and reinventing yourself, and these four looks are a great place to start.

Embrace mint… in your wardrobe

Mint is one of this season’s breakout colors. A pop of mint, whether it be an article of clothing, a clutch, or a scarf, is a great way to update your closet this Spring. Mint is one of those rare colors that compliments other colors and still looks good by itself. I also think mint is a great nail color, it’s bright, cheery, and a great way to break the red or pink color rut. So whichever way you decide to wear it, be bold and give mint a try.

Make a sock bun

This is one look that falls under the “daring” category as it tends to go one of two ways. It can either be a messy and fun look, or a complete utter fail. If you’re like me and not much of a bun girl, wearing this for a few hours or overnight makes for some great curls. If you are an up-do kind of girl, this style will not budge if done right. Also, don’t be weirded out by the sock, you can also use a donut elastic or a thick scrunchy (90’s throwback, anyone?).

Try bright pink lips

Upgrade from your normal pink routine with some bright or hot pink lipstick or lip gloss. MAC makes great pigments, and pink compliments every skin tone. If you’re going for a pop of color on the lips, keep your makeup neutral and light. This look also goes great with dark and bold lashes.

Update your little black dress… with lace

As college girls we know that a little black dress is next to Godliness. We also know that sometimes a classic needs to be spiced up, given a little edge, and tailored to match our own unique selves. Kate Middleton’s wedding dress took the dress world by storm, and lace has been popping up in dress designs all over the place. While you don’t need to be marrying a prince to own a fabulous dress, a spin on the old little black dress is to get one with a little lace accent or drapery here and there. It’s classy and sexy at the same time, just like us.
