Though there are a million ways to be active this summer, why not try a familiar fallback: the morning run? While it can be too hot to run any other time but morning or sunset, getting in a good run is a great way to keep fit this summer and still stay outside and enjoy the season.

Running relieves stress

Summer is supposed to be a stress-free season, away from school and worries, for the most part! Keep this sentiment going by running. Taking some time to be by yourself and focus all of your strength and energy into a workout is a great way to relieve stress and find balance. Not to mention, post-workout endorphins will keep the peace of mind going for hours!

Make it a new hobby

According to a Washington University study, running is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. See what all the buzz is about and join a run club if you feel so ambitious, it’s a great way to meet people and keep up your personal fitness.

Peace and quiet

While many consider exercise the furthest thing from peaceful, the solitude of running by yourself is actually a great way to make “you” time. While you run you can clear your mind or make your company your own thoughts, you never know what inspirations could come to you!

Be a better you

Running combines many elements that can help you be your best self: self discipline, responsibility and commitment, and health consciousness. Not to mention, the results you will get will have you feeling great physically too!

I actually started a running routine last week and so far im loving it! I really hope I keep up with it though. Wish me luck! =)

    – A great tip for those who aren’t runners and want to ease into the sport: look into a couch to 5k program (C25k). You just have to google it and find the right one for you.
