If you didn’t get the hint from my New Year’s Eve eye makeup post, NYE is all about the glitz and the glam, in my opinion. If you’re on the same line of thought, but not sure how to rock the glitter this NYE, here are three ways to glam it up, from subtle shimmer, to over-the-top sparkle:
Subtle Shimmer

You don’t need to pile on the glitter to be a show-stopper this NYE. A well-fitting black dress is a good investment you can wear again and again. Pair it with some patterned tights for a little extra interest and texture. Classic ballet flats keep the look cute and comfortable enough for you to dance the night away. Top it off with some sequined accessories to give you a pop of glitter for a fun NYE look.

If you want to take your outfit to the next level, why not try an all-sequined piece, like this mini skirt? Not only is it on-trend, but sequins reflect light in a way that is almost universally flattering. Be sure to try these pieces on in the store, cheaper versions can sometimes be itchy and uncomfortable if not lined properly. Pair this daring piece with a flirty top and sexy heels for a fearlessly feminine ensemble. Don’t forget your shimmery clutch, or your eye-catching earrings and glittery shadow to draw attention to that gorgeous face of yours.

Be the star of the party wherever you go this NYE with a show-stopping, full-sequin dress like this one. It’s ultra-shimmery, and sexy without being slutty, especially with the cap sleeves and modest neckline. With glitter like that, you don’t need to show a lot of skin. Ditch the glitzy accessories, so you don’t look like you stepped off of a burlesque stage, but keep the look glam with matching sky-high heels and ultra-plush false lashes.
