So it may not be spring just yet – but why not get a head start on your spring cleaning regimen with a few tips to get organized, get your room in immaculate shape, and revitalize the aesthetics of your living space? With the right tips and tricks, cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore.

Get creative with storage containers

It’s time to engage in a little social experiment: if your cleaning supplies are more handy, are you more likely to clean? ‘Tis the season to find out. Hang an extra hanging shoe organizer and fill it up with your favorite cleaning supplies so you have your favorite cleaning weapons at your fingertips.

Save your bread tags

Bread tags can be transformed into the perfect labels for power chords, especially those pesky identical ones that like to create an octopus-looking creature sulking underneath your desk or behind your TV. Save yourself some time unplugging the wrong appliance by saving your bread tags and labeling to your heart’s content.

Keep the small things in place

What is one thing that all girls’ rooms have in common? Bobby pins. Everywhere. Eliminate the stray bobby pin nightmare with a simple magnetic strip, which are cheap and can be found at almost any convenience store. Most come with an adhesive back that removes cleanly off of most household surfaces. All of the little  stray items, like spare coins and hair ties, add up and can damage your vacuum if left unnoticed. Save yourself, and your vacuum, by keeping the small things in their own place.

Embrace cute labels

Labeling doesn’t have to be something you reserve for class notes. Stick-on chalkboard labels can be used to organize apothecary jars in the kitchen or bathroom, and are an elegant twist on the old Post-It note and Sharpie routine.
