Does your jewelry collection need some spicing up? Sometimes it’s easy to fall into a pattern when we pick out our accessories and jewelry when we are getting ready for class or going out, but what to change? There are only so many gold ways to wear gold layered necklaces before they all start to look the same. Statement necklaces are a good option, but you don’t want to overdo it.
Enamel brooches or hat pins are pieces that often get overlooked and can add a nice twist to your outfits. You can get cute and quirky pins for your class outfits or fancy pins for your nights out. You can wear these pins on a jacket, your shirt or dress, a hat, scarf, purse, you name it! They are a fun way to show your personality and usually great conversation starters. A small piece like this can make a big statement.

If there is something in pop culture that really interests you (a favorite movie or TV show), try to find a brooch with one of the characters from the movie or TV show on it.
For example, if you are a fan of the show Trailer Park Boys, you most likely find these pins clever and funny. You understand why it is funny that Bubbles’s head is on a cat’s body, and if you saw someone wearing that pin you may go up and compliment them, start talking about the show, and possibly make a friend.

You can also find brooches with more bling for when you are dressing up.

If you are a crazy cat lady, this outfit is right up your alley. You can pin this brooch on your shirt or your jacket, however I would not pin it on a leather purse. If you aren’t a fan of the cat overload, switch out the kitty flats for some simple black flats instead. I don’t think it’s too much since the pin brooch is very simple and toned down, though.
Opt for a little more bling on your brooch for your night out pin. It adds a little extra sparkle in an unexpected way! If you don’t want to commit to wearing a brooch all night, pinning it on your coat is another popular option.
