Spring has sprung and when it comes to adventures there is no better time than the present. Yes, we’re responsible and self-driven college girls, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make our own adventure, have a little fun, and infuse our life with wonder and spontaneity while we’re at it.

Dare yourself

Forget about truth, just stick to dare. Write a list of 10 dares that over the past year you thought you would never do. Do it instantly or pick a random day ahead in the month when you have a day you know will be mostly clear, pick something from the list at random with your eyes closed. If you want to enlist dare buddies, the more the merrier.

Need help getting started? The dares can range from trying a new food at your local sushi place, cooking a complicated recipe that seems intimidating, or spending a few hours in your nearest city and just letting the day unfold, to more intense dares like trying an extreme sport or taking a small road trip to a place you’ve never been before.

Enlist adventurous friends

Solo adventures are great, but you know what’s even greater? Having someone to share it with. Adventurous friends are those who encourage and are willing to partake in trying new things. Friends who are adventurous are great because they’re proactive, high-energy, and have an infectious love of life. Chances are if you can’t think of any exciting new experience to try, they will!

Try something new every day

Strive to try something new every day, even if it’s something small, and every day will seem new to you! Even taking a new route home or to class is a great way to see something you may have overlooked. The more spontaneous the better – if there is a shop or restaurant you always pass by every day, why not stop in? It’s like a mini adrenaline rush for you body in the form of discovery, one that’s been right on your path all along.

Be open, and get out there!

You can never be more adventurous by thinking. Thinking is the antithesis of adventure. Instead of reading or planning ways to schedule an adventure, use this article as inspiration to get out there and see what you find! I have often experienced that the best adventures happen when they sneak up on me in a moment of creativity. Adventure and the excitement of a new experience can be had anywhere, at any time. Seize the day – seize your life.
