Although summer seems like it is still here , fall is fast approaching, and before we know it winter will be knocking at our doorsteps! However, despite the nasty weather that comes in fall and winter, I enjoy these seasons for fashion- mainly because I have a weakness for a great coat. Coats are so stylish these days that it is hard not to enjoy them. Here are some of my ideas for this fall and winter season:

Trench Coats

Every college girl needs a classic trench. These coats can be worn for in-between seasons like fall and spring. They are almost always flattering and create a great silouette. Not only can you wear this coat throughout four years of university, but you can also take it along with you through your early career. I suggest splurging on this piece to make sure you have the right cut, color and materials, it is an item that will never go out of style. Below is my favorite trench coat from Banana Republic.

Capes

Capes are all the rage for the upcoming cold months. This coat will look great with other trends like skinny jeans and riding boots. I wouldn’t suggest an all out spluge on a cape because they are something that may go in and out of style in the years to come. Below I found a stylish and affordable cape from Forever 21.

Pea Coats

Another classic piece that may require a splurge (mostly to make sure it is warm enough!). If you are going to spend a lot on a pea-coat I would suggest going with a neutral tone like black, grey or navy. Although, if you see an amazing red one that totally suits you, go for it! Below is a great find from Aritzia, it is versatile but also has stylish accents like the bell sleeves, high collar and cinched waist.

Leather

Bomber jackets have been so trendy in the last few years that I was almost hesitant to put them on my list; however, I am the first to admit that adding a sleek bomber jacket to almost any outfit adds a much desired dash of edge.
