Now that you know what to wear, what to bring, and what to eat on exam day, the only thing left is how to do your hair and makeup. Here are a few quick tips for you to take a look at during study-breaks this weekend!
If you have time in the morning, it is best to wash your hair. It’s refreshing, and squeaky-clean locks will give you a more polished look. But, if you don’t have time to lather, rinse, and repeat, no worries: first, take some dry shampoo (I like Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo, but use whatever you have on hand), next, separate the front section of your hair and do a tight French-braid across your fringe-line. This hides any built-up grease, and is a quick way to make it look like you spent a lot of time on your hair. Scrunch the back section of your hair with a little hairspray with your head flipped upside down to give it a little extra texture and make it look more styled.
If you’re anything like me, then you’re prone to stress-induced exam zits. As if we don’t have enough on our plates, these bad boys are big, red, hard, and painful bumps that pop up in obvious spot on your face, like your forehead, chin, and nose. Gross! Fortunately, there are a few quick steps you can take to hide your exam-induced spots. First, take an ice cube and wrap it in a thin washcloth. Hold it against each pimple for 30-60 seconds. This will reduce swelling and redness. Next, apply a little shrinking cream (how about Garnier’s SOS Anti-Blemish Pen? It is one of the few ones I’ve tried that actually gets results. Put some on at night, too, for best results). Let it dry fully before applying a neutralizing concealer, followed by a light pressed powder. There’s one less thing for you to stress over on exam morning!
The morning of an exam is no time to be fiddling with false eyelashes or lining your lips. With all the stress of the exam, the last thing you want to worry about is getting your makeup perfect. Instead, spend a little time getting a glowy, fresh face to make you look and feel more awake and alert. Use a little concealer and powder as needed to hide any blemishes and squelch shine. Next, add a dab of creamy blush to the apples of your cheeks, and spread the excess on the centre of your lips. For eyes, just curl lashes and add a coat of mascara. It’ll open your eyes without having to worry about liner and shadow. Plus, if you’re stressed in the exam, there’s less eye makeup mess to smudge around your face.
