Final exams, deadlines, relationship issues – they all hit us at one point or another. But what happens when they all happen at the same time? We create stress! And believe me, it’s harder to get rid of than we think. My hope is that these 8 steps can get you relaxed and full of peace!
Take a step back
Sometimes when we are right in the midst of our problems it’s hard to actually figure out a solution without seeing our issues face to face. Step back, look at the whole picture and execute a brilliant plan from there!
Water is an awesome natural anti-stress agent! Adding chamomile or honey can only sweeten the deal (no pun intended).
Take a bite out of nature
Literally, eating healthier foods, like natural or organic foods, can lighten the load in your mind and body! Eating foods such as walnuts, oatmeal, and even salmon can boost your mood naturally.
Take a walk to clear your mind. Give yourself time to think whether you’re taking a hike or walking to the nearest grocery store, get some outdoor time, where you’re not confined to four walls!
Just dance! You know how it feels when you hear your favorite song on the radio. It instantly boosts your mood doesn’t it? Well use that method to distress (and burn calories), your brain and your body will thank you later!
Talk, talk, talk
Talk to someone who you know will be able to help you and give you good advice. It defeats the purpose if you tell someone that can’t help you; you eventually end back at square one. Don’t hold back any emotion you feel either, get it all out!
Make time for yourself
Plan a weekend get away, or a road trip. And no, you’re not running away from your problems you’re just taking a bit of a mental hiatus!
Imagine tweezers pinching your brain. That’s exactly what a tension headache feels like. Relax: when you over-worry you do more harm than good to your body. So be calm and carry on!
